Mylan Acquires Butorphanol Tartrate Nasal Spray

Mylan Laboratories Inc. (NYSE:MYL) announced today that it has acquired an Abbreviated New Drug Application for the sale of Butorphanol Tartrate Nasal Spray, 10 mg/mL.

Butorphanol is the generic equivalent to Bristol-Myers Squibb Company's Stadol(R) NS, which is indicated for the management of pain when an opoid analgesic is appropriate. Current annual sales for Stadol(R) NS are approximately $82 million. This product will be manufactured by a contract manufacturer and is available for immediate shipment from Mylan's Greensboro, North Carolina distribution center.
