SAN JOSE, Calif. & MUNICH, Germany--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 15, 2001
Volera, Inc., the leading provider of content networking solutions and a subsidiary of Novell, Inc. (Nasdaq:NOVL), today announced that its industry-leading caching and content networking software, Excelerator 2.0(TM), will be incorporated into Fujitsu Siemens Computers' PRIMERGY WebAccelerator(TM) Appliance Server. The software upgrade adoption is an extension of a 1999 alliance, which paired Fujitsu Siemens Computers' first-generation Web accelerator with Volera's Excelerator version 1.3.
Fujitsu Siemens Computers' new, feature-rich PRIMERGY WebAccelerator appliance server supports forward-proxy caching for individual browser acceleration, reverse-proxy caching for server side acceleration and transparent caching for network-wide browser acceleration. Using Excelerator's add-ons, Media Excelerator(TM) and Secure Excelerator(TM), the appliance servers can also deliver rich and streaming media across all of today's content distribution network platforms and accelerate the processing of secure socket layer (SSL) eCommerce and eBusiness transactions.
"Our PRIMERGY WebAccelerator server powered by Volera's Excelerator 2.0 enables the quick and cost-effective delivery of the rich content and sophisticated applications that today's business climate demands," said Dieter Herzog, Director Intel-based servers at Fujitsu Siemens Computers.
"We are very pleased that Fujitsu-Siemens Computers has extended their product line with the inclusion of our second generation caching and content networking platform," said Simon Khalaf, president of Volera. "We look forward to this next stage of our channel alliance, and we are excited to offer Fujitsu-Siemens Computers' customers the significant business advantage provided by the efficient delivery of all forms of network content and the acceleration of secure online transactions."
Fujitsu Siemens Computers' PRIMERGY WebAccelerator(TM) Appliance Server featuring Excelerator 2.0 Caching and Content Networking Software is available directly from Fujitsu Siemens Computers and its selected resellers across Europe. Details can be found at:
