LAGUNA BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 2, 2001
Senior Care Industries Inc. (OTCBB:SENC), a company that is moving to become one of the largest builders of high quality, affordable senior citizen housing in the Western United States, today announced that future residents of the 650 acre Hills of Bajamar property in Northern Baja California, Mexico, will benefit from the company's "smart home" technology, a signature feature of its U.S. development projects.
All homes in the gated community will be equipped with Senior Care's "smart home" technology, affording immediate and direct alert in the event of medical emergency. The 650 acre site is part of a portfolio of properties the company plans to develop and complete in Northern Baja, which additionally includes a 16 acre oceanfront senior timeshare development site abutting the Bajamar Golf Course, a 112 unit condominium project that is under construction five miles south of Rosarito Beach, and a 170,000 square foot shopping mall under construction with adjacent 15 acre ocean front senior housing site in the City of Rosarito Beach.
Senior Care intends to complete construction on these projects, and will develop the 650 acre site, and the ocean front property in Rosarito Beach and Bajamar. These projects are an integral part of Senior Care's plan to meet demand for senior housing by building more than 5,000 homes, townhouses and condominiums over the next several years.
Senior Care invests in, manages, and develops senior housing with an emphasis on independent living. In the future, Senior Care may acquire assisted living centers for seniors. Senior Care continues to actively seek land for development or existing large apartment complexes that can be converted to senior housing, said a company spokesperson.
