SYNAVANT Confirms its New Senior Leadership Team

All Roles Focused on Creating Customer Value

SYNAVANT Inc. (Nasdaq:SNVT), the global pioneer of Pharmaceutical Relationship Management (PRM) solutions for the biopharmaceutical and healthcare industries, today confirmed its new senior leadership team, following the global restructuring announced on August 16, 2001.

"The new senior leadership structure streamlines our decision-making, maximizes the deployment of our pharmaceutical customer expertise and improves our operational effectiveness and efficiency. It endorses our requirement for every role and business process to be focused on creating customer value, from the front-line sales and customer service representatives to senior management," explained Wayne P. Yetter, SYNAVANT's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Wayne Yetter leads the SYNAVANT senior leadership team as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, with operational responsibility for the company.

Reporting to Yetter are:

Craig Kussman, Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer (includes finance, investor relations and human resources)

Kussman adds responsibility for Human Resources and continues as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining SYNAVANT Kussman held various positions with IMS HEALTH, including Senior Vice President of Corporate Development, with responsibility for identifying, evaluating and implementing strategic financial acquisition and divestiture options. He also served as Vice President of Corporate Development for Cognizant Corporation, IMS HEALTH's predecessor. Before transferring to Cognizant, Kussman held financial planning, acquisition and new business development roles for Dun & Bradstreet. Kussman earned a BA cum laude in economics and mathematics from Pomona College and an MBA in finance from the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania.

Robert Holmes, Senior Vice President, Americas (includes US, Canada and Latin America)

Holmes adds responsibility for Latin America. He was previously Vice President and General Manager, North America. Prior to SYNAVANT, Holmes was Vice President of Client Relations and transition project leader for IMS HEALTH Strategic Technologies, focused on transition planning issues during SYNAVANT's spin-off from IMS HEALTH. Holmes began his career as an industrial engineer at Merck, moving to business planning and marketing. He was appointed Executive Director of Strategic Planning and Facilities Management at Astra Merck and later became Executive Director of sales for the southeast region of the US. Holmes earned a BS in naval engineering and analytical management from the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

Ken Tyson, Senior Vice President, International (includes Europe, Australia, Asia-Pacific and Japan)

Tyson's role expands to include additional geographic regions. He was Vice President and General Manager, Europe, a position he held since joining SYNAVANT's predecessor, IMS HEALTH Strategic Technologies. Previously, Tyson was Vice President of ManTech Europe, responsible for building the European software and services operation. Before ManTech, he served as Managing Director and then Vice President of European Operations for the FileNET corporation. Tyson also spent 22 years with ICL (now part of Fujitsu) operating at senior levels. He began his career at Plessey. Tyson earned a first class honors degree in electronic and electrical engineering from the University of Birmingham, UK and a diploma in management studies.

Jim Cain, Senior Vice President, Global Marketing and Customer Development (includes marketing, product management and new skill centers for customer consulting and customized solutions)

Cain joined SYNAVANT effective August 15, 2001. He joined from IMS HEALTH where he was Vice President Client Management, leading the US sales organization, focusing specifically on business development, revenue growth and customer satisfaction. Previously Cain held senior roles in the business development and information products areas of PCS Health Systems and in the marketing areas of Walsh America and Whittle Communications. Cain also held various sales and marketing roles at Marion Merrell Dow (now Aventis). Cain earned a Bachelor degree with Honors in business administration from the University of Rhode Island.

Tim Waller, Senior Vice President, Business Development, Research and Technology (includes research and development, quality assurance, alliances, business development)

Waller adds responsibility for Research and Development to his previous role as Vice President, Business Strategies and Development. Prior to SYNAVANT, Waller was Vice President Business Strategies for IMS HEALTH Strategic Technologies. Previously, Waller served as Chief Information Officer for Per-Se Technologies, managing IT operations for major healthcare applications and spearheading the introduction of new data products and services for the healthcare sector. Waller was also Executive Director of Development at HBOC where he led the development of a number of hospital-based applications and was Manager of Development at AT&T Long Lines. Waller earned a BS degree in applied mathematics from the Georgia Institute of Technology and did his graduate work in psychology at Georgia State University.
