DigiCell(R) 1650 installs in minutes to add full data
communications to existing alarm panels, complements the
Uplink(SM) suite of alarm security products
Numerex Corp. (NASDAQ: NMRX), today announced the launch of a new full data wireless alarm device.
The DigiCell(R) 1650 provides for the wireless transmission of a complete data packet sent by an alarm security panel, when transmitted from a protected site to a central station. The DigiCell 1650 will be available in October for dealer orders.
Security dealers are now able to offer a `plug and play' wireless alarm security solution with enhanced capabilities at the `flick of a switch.' Complete data for monitored zones, including the location of the alarm, is gathered and transmitted in real time using the Numerex Cellemetry(R) wireless network. The unit takes only minutes to install and does not require specialized installation or programming. In addition, the control and management functions are web-enabled for easy, around-the-clock access.
The DigiCell 1650 is a self-contained product consisting of a Cellemetry communications module, an alarm panel interface board, a telephone line monitor, and a power supply. The DigiCell 1650 provides the alarm dealer and central station with an additional path of communications for transmitting the alarm signals. When the phone line is compromised, the 1650 intercepts the alarm panel dialer signal and automatically transmits the signal wirelessly to the central station.
"We are constantly enhancing our product lines to reduce costs and improve functionality. With the new DigiCell 1650, we've added flexibility for our dealers and end users," states Ray Bridenbaugh, VP of Product Management for Numerex. "An existing security system can be upgraded quickly and easily without additional programming and is enhanced by reliable and secure transmissions through the Cellemetry network."
