Speech Solution Delivering Dramatic Productivity and Order
Accuracy Improvements
Voxware, Inc. (OTC: VOXW), a leading speech recognition company providing natural language-based solutions for industrial applications, with a focus on supply chain execution, announced today the successful completion of the VoiceLogistics(TM) deployment for the first Corporate Express distribution center in Detroit, Michigan.
In November 2000, Corporate Express, the world's largest business-to-business supplier of essential office and computer products and services, selected the Voxware VoiceLogistics system for installation into their Detroit, Michigan facility. In April this year, Voxware began the installation and integration of the Windows NT-based system, and started training the initial users on how to operate and use the systems for static, batch, and cluster picking operations.
"In my experience, I cannot recall a major project that installed as easily or operated out of the box as described, as this project has," said Tim Beauchamp, VP of North American operations for Corporate Express. "After 10 weeks of operations, we have collected data and have seen a 40% improvement in productivity and a 73% reduction in errors. This is a significant operational improvement over manual operations that we expect to see reflected in both our operating margins immediately, and in top line revenue growth as capacity and customer satisfaction increases. VoiceLogistics is helping Corporate Express remake our supply chain into a value chain for both the customer and the company," added Beauchamp.
Voxware's VoiceLogistics solution has been integrated into Corporate Express' SUN-based Warehouse Management System in Detroit to provide a multi-faceted picking application for their business-to-business fulfillment operations. The speech-based VoiceXML solution, which was selected in a competitive procurement over other alternative solutions, including other speech-based systems, has become the objective system to be deployed by Corporate Express in their other North American distribution centers over the next year.
"Corporate Express was extremely pleased with the ease of installation and integration of the system," said Jeff Waller, Director of Professional Services for Voxware. "Workers at the Detroit facility were using the system the day we installed it and trained them how to use it. Corporate Express is very impressed with the emerging results from the deployment of VoiceLogistics, and together with Corporate Express we have already begun planning the deployment in their next site in Aurora, Colorado," added Waller.
Voxware's VoiceLogistics is a wireless, web-based interactive speech interface solution for the Supply Chain. VoiceLogistics enhances speed, accuracy and productivity of logistics and fulfillment operations, and seamlessly integrates with the WMS and IT systems of virtually any distribution and logistics operation. The VoiceLogistics system includes the VoiceLogistics wireless RF client, Voxware's patented noise-robust speech recognizer designed specifically for high performance in industrial environments, their VoiceXML browser, the VoiceLogistics server, the VoiceLogistics suite of VoiceXML applications for logistics and fulfillment operations, and Voxware's professional services for installation, integration and implementation.
