CAMARILLO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 9, 2001
Interlink Electronics Inc. (Nasdaq:LINK), the world's leading developer of intuitive interface technologies and solutions for business and home applications, today announced that Fortune Small Business Magazine ranked Interlink Electronics 32nd in their listing of the Fastest Growing Public Small Companies in America.
In the same month, Interlink Electronics was also named in the prestigious Deloitte & Touche Fast 50 -- a ranking of the fastest growing technology companies in Los Angeles based on revenue growth from the years 1996 through 2000.
"It's an honor to be recognized by both Fortune Small Business and Deloitte & Touche," said E. Michael Thoben, chairman, chief executive officer and president, Interlink Electronics Inc. "While this is Interlink's first appearance on the Fortune Small Business list, it is our fifth on Deloitte & Touche's Fast 50 in the past six years.
"The company's presence on both lists reflects the extraordinary effort, teamwork and dedication that is evident at Interlink Electronics and our commitment to enhance shareholder value. It also reflects our commitment to the development of interface technologies and solutions that enrich people's lives."
"Technology as we know it has been part of our lives for less than 50 years, yet it has become a part of our every day existence," said Gary Dickey, partner, Technology & Communications Group, Deloitte & Touche. "We at Deloitte & Touche salute Interlink Electronics for having the vision and the capability to keep up with the demands of today's fast-paced technology marketplace."
The Fortune Small Business Magazine's FSB 100
Published in the July/August issue of Fortune Small Business Magazine, the FSB 100 is a listing of America's fastest-growing small companies. This list, which was compiled with assistance from Zacks Investment Research, considered only public companies that have been in business for more than three years and who reported $200 million or less in revenue for 2000.
The companies were ranked based on earnings growth, revenue growth and total stock return, and these rankings are averaged to determined the company's position on the FSB 100.
The Deloitte & Touche Fast 50 Program, 2001
To qualify for a Fast 50 listing, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 1996 and $1,000,000 in 2000, must be public or private companies with headquarters in the Los Angeles area; and be "technology companies" defined as companies that produce technology, manufacture a technology product, are technologically intensive and/or use technology in problem-solving, or devote a high percentage of effort to research and development of technology.
