Hitachi Introduces Value-priced 17" LCD Monitor

Hitachi America, Ltd., a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE: HIT) has added a high-performance 17" LCD monitor to its value line. The new CML171 targets corporate, home, general business and SOHO user. It features TFT (Thin Film Transistor) Technology, which delivers high-quality and distortion-free images in a sleek design that conserves desktop space.
The CML171 features 230-nit brightness and a 300:1 typical contrast ratio with a prime resolution of 1280 x 1024. Continuing Hitachi's tradition of providing high quality - even on its value priced product- the CML171 provides high quality images, crisp text and numerous on-screen controls.
Featuring an auto-adjust function for quick, beautiful image adjustments, the CML171 also provides speakers and a microphone integrated into the front bezel. With a full of 17" viewing area (338 x 270 mm) the panel weighs 15.7 lbs and has a 7.9" depth including the base. The panel meets the VESA FPMPMI (Flat Panel Monitor Physical Mounting Interface) standard, which enables wall mounting with third party mounting arms. It also features a Kensington Security Port.
The TCO 99' approved CML171 complies with the world's strictest standards for low radiation, safety, ergonomics & power management. The CML171 display is compatible with both PCs and Macs and features on-screen controls for color temperature, clock, phase, brightness, contrast and more. The CML171 will begin shipping to Hitachi's authorized monitor distributors on December 18, 2001. The MSRP is $699.00.
