WHO: Bobby Jindal, Assistant Secretary for Planning and
Evaluation for the U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services, will be a featured speaker at the conference's
Exhibitor's Theatre, sponsored by McKesson Corporation,
which is expected to draw a large crowd of conference
participants.
A Louisiana native, Jindal graduated with honors from
Brown University with degrees in biology and public
policy. He is a Rhodes scholar who received his master's
degree in politics from Oxford University. He is a
renowned healthcare expert whose background uniquely
combines healthcare policy and administrative experience.
WHAT: During his 30-minute address, Jindal will share with the
audience the current HHS Administration's perspectives on
"Quality in Healthcare and Patient Safety."
WHY: The office of the HHS assistant secretary for planning and
evaluation takes the lead on policy development, and is
responsible for implementing major initiatives, including
the modernization of Medicare and expanding coverage for
the uninsured.
