OTTAWA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 3, 2001

International Datacasting (TSE:IDC.) announced the signing of a contract valued at CDN$1.1 million to provide a SuperFlex hybrid broadband data and video distance learning system to a new government customer in Mexico (who declined to be identified for policy reasons).

The system will be used to provide training and skills upgrades to personnel at 100 plus remote sites across Mexico. The system includes broadband multimedia content distribution as well as broadcast video using the same core infrastructure and satellite carrier. This will allow the customer to broadcast traditional television programming, and also implement new web-based and computer-based training tools.

Additionally, the new system will be integrated into the customer's existing Wide Area Network (WAN) for two-way interactive connectivity.

Commented Ron Clifton, President and CEO of IDC, "We are pleased that we continue to grow our business in Mexico at the same time we help a prestigious customer to improve its internal communication and training. We won this contract-after a stiff competition-based on IDC's extensive international experience integrating video and IP data, in particular the good work we have done in Mexico over the years with our local partner Grupo Etercom S.A. de C.V. We are now entering our fourth year of providing advanced distance learning technology in Mexico, this continues to be an important priority for our company."
