EurNetCity Selects Juniper Networks for Advanced Metropolitan Network Services; Video-on-Demand and Secure Internet Options Among Host of Smart IP Services Enabled Through Deal

Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:JNPR), a leading provider of next-generation Internet Protocol (IP) infrastructure systems, today announced that EurNetCity, Italy's foremost digital technology center, is leveraging Juniper Networks M-series Internet routers for its Internet network infrastructure. This new deployment is already working with broadband equipment, enabling EurNetCity to provide additional new services to its customers and users.

In addition to enabling high-speed Internet access, Web-hosting solutions and client applications hosting, today's announcement reflects that EurNetCity is advancing a digital multi-service network. Additional services being rolled out by EurNetCity include continuous back-up services and video-on-demand solutions (such as films) featuring Digital Versatile Disc (DVD)-quality resolution made available through agreements with major content providers.
Juniper Networks M5 and M10 Internet routers will also facilitate peering and core routing applications, including Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) virtual private networks (VPNs). In addition, EurNetCity will offer additional Smart IP Services(TM) based upon the robust capabilities of the Juniper Networks Internet Processor II ASIC and JUNOS Internet software. EurNetCity's metropolitan service offering leverages Juniper Networks leading-edge Gigabit Ethernet network technology. Corporate service offerings could include the creation and configuration of client services, such as integrated voice and high-speed data traffic.
