Business Wire today announced an agreement with Yahoo! Inc. to distribute its innovative multimedia news product, the Smart News Release, on Yahoo!(R) Finance (http://finance.yahoo.com), the leading finance site on the Web,(a).

Smart News Releases include multimedia photos, logos, videos, audio, and graphics imbedded into the text of a news release. Business Wire and Yahoo! have been working together since 1997 to deliver news.

Consumers can view Smart News Releases on Yahoo! Finance by conducting a news or ticker symbol search and clicking on Business Wire news releases. Smart News Releases will automatically be displayed with a photo and graphic appearing within the text of the news release. Users can also view all Business Wire releases by visiting http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/.> "Distributing Smart News Releases on Yahoo! Finance allows our members to reach a huge online audience with their own multimedia photos and logos," said Cathy Baron Tamraz, Business Wire's chief operating officer. "The Smart News Release should be an integral part of any marketing communications program."

"We're pleased to expand our relationship with Business Wire," said Katie Jacobs Stanton, senior producer, Yahoo! Finance. "Providing consumers with press releases that include multimedia photos and logos not only enhance the user experience, but help companies market their products and services more effectively."

Included in the next phase of the launch, Yahoo! Finance visitors will be able to access downloadable multimedia via a direct link to Business Wire's Web site (www.businesswire.com). Business Wire members will have the option of providing up to two additional links of featured URLs in a "Smart News Release Box" in each press release. A range of standard link options, e.g. "Go to company's website," or "Visit Press Room," also will be available.

Members receive distribution on Yahoo! Finance in addition to Business Wire's own website, where it is distributed to over 6,000 dot com newsrooms via Newstream (www.newstream.com). Both sites are heavily accessed by consumers, media, and financial professionals.
