NEW YORK--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Dec. 6, 2001

Tickets on Sale Sunday, December 9, at Noon

For the first time ever, the chicken-hearted Great Dane, Scooby-Doo, and his mystery-solving gang take center stage at Radio City Music Hall, as Radio City Entertainment and Warner Bros. Family Entertainment present "SCOOBY-DOO IN STAGEFRIGHT -- Live on Stage" February 20-27, 2002.

Giving Scooby-Doo fans of all ages a chance to see the cast of sleuths and their comical brand of detective work on stage, the live show is scheduled for 12 performances at the world-famous Radio City Music Hall. Tickets go on sale Sunday, December 9, at noon. Ticket prices are $27.00-$75.00.

In this exciting new production, the beloved Hanna-Barbera characters -- Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne and Fred -- will take to the stage to solve a classic Scooby-Doo style mystery. The show takes the form of a "long-lost episode" in which Scooby-Doo and friends solve the mystery of a supernatural specter wreaking havoc at the old Clawhammer movie studio.

The gang faces one hilarious situation after another as they hunt for clues on the set of a scary movie directed by Daphne's totally hip uncle. With crazy creatures, perplexing puzzles, and an abundance of Scooby Snacks, it's Scooby-Doo and friends at their best, solving cases and traveling the country in their Mystery Machine.

Promising hilarious hi-jinks, groovy music and magical special effects, never before seen in a family theatrical presentation, the stage production is written and directed by Jim Millan, founder of Toronto's Crow's Theatre. Millan has produced and directed more than 35 original works and numerous tours in Canada, the United States and abroad, including the recent "Kids in the Hall Tour 2000."

"The physical comedy performed live by these beloved characters, mixed with traditional spooky fun and surprises from the classic animation series, expands Scooby-Doo and the gang's world in an exciting new way," said Millan. "The theater is full of magic, and the Scooby-Doo mysteries have a great new home live onstage."

The production's creative team includes Mark McKinney, script consultant and "Kids in the Hall" star; set designer Robert Bissinger ("You're a Good Man Charlie Brown," "Jackie: An American Life," "Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella"); costume designer Gregg Barnes ("Sideshow," "The Wizard of Oz"); sound designer Peter Hylenski ("The Music Man," "Ragtime"); and lighting designer Paul D. Miller ("Sound of Music," "A Midsummer Night's Dream").

The live stage show will tour in advance of Warner Bros. Pictures' upcoming live-action feature film, "Scooby Doo," coming to theaters in June 2002. The film, directed by Raja Gosnell ("Big Momma's House," "Never Been Kissed") stars Freddie Prinze Jr. (Fred), Sarah Michelle Gellar (Daphne), Matthew Lillard (Shaggy) and Linda Cardellini (Velma).

"Scooby-Doo" airs exclusively on Cartoon Network in the United States. It currently airs 45 times per week and consistently performs well in the ratings. For all of 2000, "Scooby-Doo" was the No. 1 rated show with kids 2-5 and was tied for No. 3 with adults.
