Building Materials Holding Corporation Appoints Sara L. Beckman to Board of Directors

Building Materials Holding Corp. (Nasdaq:BMHC), a leading provider of building materials and services to professional builders and contractors, today announced that it has appointed Sara L. Beckman to its board of directors.
Dr. Beckman, 45, is currently a member of the Operations and Information Technology Management faculty at the Haas School of Business at the University of California Berkeley teaching operations strategy and new product development. Dr. Beckman is a published researcher in product design and development, green design and manufacturing and operations strategy. She has served as co-director, Fisher Center for Strategic Use of Information Technology, as director, Management of Technology Program and recently as a founding member of the Berkeley Institute of Design. Her industry experience includes several management positions at Hewlett-Packard Company focusing manufacturing strategy, product development management and organizational change and renewal, as well as consulting experience at Booz, Allen and Hamilton. Dr. Beckman also serves on the boards of the Corporate Design Foundation, the California Management Review and the Production and Operations Management Society.
