SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 1, 2001
Network Appliance (NASDAQ:NTAP), the leading provider of network-attached data access and content delivery solutions, today announced that Integra (IEA NM or INTG NM), Europe's leading provider of managed web hosting and e-business solutions, has selected Network Appliance(TM) storage solutions for its Integra Technical Centers (ITC) e-commerce infrastructure across Europe. Integra required storage solutions that provided high performance, reliability, and data availability, to store and manage multiple terabytes of Web content throughout the continent.
Integra selected Network Appliance open storage networking solutions to support a deployment of more than 20,000 interconnected servers by the end of 2004, and a rapid launch of a network of ITCs in Europe, with a growing storage capacity in heterogeneous OS environments. Integra launched its next-generation ITC in Frankfurt, Germany in July 2000.
The ITCs are specially designed for operating complex Web sites, and rely both on a high-performance infrastructure and a modular and open range of services. Network Appliance enterprise filers delivered a scalable approach to storage for Integra, allowing ITCs to keep pace with their increasing storage requirements.
Xavier Boileau, Integra's Chief Technical Officer comments, "Our experience with Network Appliance began more than three years ago, when we chose NetApp(R) filers for the Scandinavia Online Web site. The high performance and reliability of NetApp filers today handle more than 200 million Web pages per month. As we decided to grow on a total pan-European basis, we selected Network Appliance to offer us the same high performance and reliability on a Continental basis."
