HAMBURG, Germany--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 1, 2001
Gauss, the developer of unified content management for the extended enterprise, directed its European expansion program northward by establishing a wholly owned subsidiary in Sweden.
The company has tapped its Swedish offshoot, Gauss Interprise AB, to lead the drive to become the Scandinavian market leader in unified content management software. Gauss' growth in Sweden was expedited by bringing the new Web site of global shipping and logistics giant, Maersk Sealand, online with the VIP unified content management platform. Gauss expects to announce the details of Maersk's success with VIP in the coming weeks.
Gauss is positioning its Swedish presence as an ideal springboard from which to penetrate the entire Scandinavian market -- Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. Located in Stockholm's IT center -- known as "Mobile Valley" -- the new Swedish office will leverage the country's innovative use of, and openness toward, Internet and wireless technologies as a means to introduce the VIP unified content management platform to a new audience.
"Sweden is considered to be a country of 'early adopters,' meaning that there is great openness towards innovative technologies," explained Arne Westin, managing director of Gauss Interprise AB. Westin added that: "Because we are the undisputed technology leader for unified content management solutions, the market potential for VIP in Sweden is extremely high. And, the successful solution introduced at Maersk Sealand, one of our first customers, is an excellent reference for further activities in the Scandinavian market."
