MOUNT SNOW, Vt.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 1, 2001

Music fans at the Winter X Games will be able to load their MP3 players with digital music via MUSICTELLER. MUSICTELLER is an ATM-like device that downloads digital music directly into MP3 players giving consumers access to digital music when they are away from their homes. The MUSICTELLER will be located as part of the Nike ACG Area X in the Crisports store at the Mt. Snow Grand Summit Hotel. Consumers who purchase a Nike PSA 60 or 120 digital audio player will receive 6 free songs when they plug their new player into the MUSICTELLER.

"The Winter X Games is a perfect example of how MUSICTELLER fits the lifestyle of music consumers," said Mark Hardie, founder and CEO of ETC Music, makers of MUSICTELLER. "Participants and fans at the Winter X Games can access their digital music slope-side with ease and convenience."

ABOUT MUSICTELLER

MUSICTELLER is a convenient and simple way to get digital music away from home. The MUSICTELLER works like an ATM except that it dispenses music (not cash) directly into MP3 players. The Teller uses a simple touch screen that allows customers to choose songs, plug in an MP3 player, and download their music in just a few minutes. The TELLER supports a variety of different digital audio players including the Nike PSA 60 and 120 and the Rio 600 and 800. MUSICTELLER makes sense for people on the go, because it allows them to buy new music and access previously purchased music from a virtual music locker anytime, anywhere.

Music currently available through MUSICTELLER includes songs from leading independent labels, including Artemis, Roadrunner, Windup, Instinct/Shadow Records, Rykodisc, Rounder, Tone Cool, Heartbeat, Victory, Razor & Tie Entertainment, Vitaminic, the Orchard, Grapeshot Media, and Strictly Rhythm. Songs include material from established and emerging artists spanning the rock, pop, country, rap/hip-hop, jazz, dance/electronic, blues, folk/acoustic and world music genres. Featured musicians on MUSICTELLER include Spacehog, Kitty, Dust For Life, Aimee Mann, Spineshank, Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire, Susan Tedeschi, Snapcase, Sarah Harmer, Deltron 3030, Dan the Automator, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Gregory Issacs, the Josh Joplin Group, Jess Klein, and Dar Williams.

In the future, ETC Music Inc plans to offer music from both established and up and coming acts on both major and independent labels. In the first half of 2001 the music will be available on a promotional basis. Moving forward, pricing will include inexpensive singles/songs, competitively priced multi-track titles, as well as special offers on live music or otherwise rare or unreleased material.
