Novatel Wireless and Dataradio Announce Agreement to Provide Integrated Wireless Modem Technology

Novatel Wireless, Inc. (Nasdaq:NVTL), a leading provider of wireless data modems and software, and Dataradio, Inc., a principal designer and manufacturer of private wireless data products and networks, announced an agreement to provide an integrated technology solution optimizing reliability and response time for public safety and utility users previously confined to single technology solutions.

Under the terms of the agreement, Dataradio will package Novatel Wireless' Lancer 3W(TM) Wireless 3 Watt Modem for CDPD together with their conventional radio-modem technologies. The resulting dual-mode solution will be distributed along with the stand-alone Lancer 3W and Merlin(TM) Wireless PC Card Modem for CDPD through Dataradio's direct and indirect sales forces throughout North America. The solutions will be targeted to public safety and utility market segments and will provide seamless and efficient connectivity to both private and public networks.
