MARLBORO, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 13, 2001
Egenera, Inc., an Internet-infrastructure company, today announced the relocation of its headquarters office from Bolton, Mass., to a 30,000-square-foot site at 165 Forest St. in Marlboro, Mass. The new location provides Egenera with the space, facilities and infrastructure needed to support its aggressive plans for hiring, product development and corporate expansion.
Founded in March 2000 and privately held, Egenera will increase its present headcount of 70 professionals in such disciplines as engineering, business development and customer service to 150 employees by June of this year. According to Chief Administrative Officer Julie Maxwell, the new facility is ideal for handling this growth.
"We typically have four or five people start each week - bright, enthusiastic individuals who want to hit the ground running," said Maxwell. "The scope and flexibility of the Marlboro site enable us to readily accommodate these new members of the Egenera team and provide them with a work environment that fosters productivity."
Maxwell noted that the incremental space is equally significant to Egenera's product-development efforts and corporate evolution, enabling the Company to establish lab facilities for engineering and quality assurance plus an IT help desk and employee training area. She also commented on the benefits of locating in Marlboro, saying, "The town's leadership role in the Massachusetts high-tech economy, coupled with its central location, offers clear advantages in recruiting and corporate credibility as well as exceptional access to services, technology and real estate."
