OAKLAND, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 21, 2001
KaiserAir, Inc. has added three new business jets to its charter fleet, bringing the total number of aircraft available to eight.
Additions are two Gulfstream GIIIs and a Citation Bravo.
"The Gulfstreams give us more long-range capability for flights to the East Coast, Europe, Hawaii and the Pacific Rim, while the Citation Bravo is ideally suited for shorter flights in the Western United States," said Sandy Waters, KaiserAir vice president.
"We have increased our fleet in response to the growing demand for charters. Business executives today are finding that traveling by charter plane more than pays for itself when they take into account the time that they save," he added.
The Bravo is a new addition to the fleet, while the other jets replace older versions of similar planes. The interiors of the Gulfstreams are all newly remodeled, and the Bravo is a year 2000 model.
With these additions, KasierAir's charter fleet includes one Gulfstream IVSP, two Gulfstream IIIs, one Gulfstream IIB, one Hawker 700, one Citation V, one Citation Bravo and one Citation II.
If an executive spends more than 100 hours a year on air travel, it typically is more cost-effective to use chartered jets, according to a study by Business and Commercial Aviation magazine.
A chartered flight means that executives can travel on their own schedules, without worrying about possibly cutting a meeting short to make the last plane of the day or spending time waiting at airport check-in counters and baggage claims.
In addition, because there are approximately 5,400 airports in the United States that can handle business jets, a charter usually takes a business executive much closer to his final destination than a commercial flight. In comparison, nearly 75 percent of all airline passengers travel to or from one of the top 30 air carrier hubs.
KaiserAir, located at Oakland International Airport, specializes in the operation and maintenance of Gulfstream, Hawker, Cessna Citation and other business jet aircraft.
In addition to charter service, KaiserAir offers complete corporate aircraft management services and operates an Executive Terminal for the use of private planes at Oakland International Airport's North Field. Thirty-three of Fortune Magazine's Top 50 corporations make KaiserAir's Executive Terminal their home when they conduct business in the San Francisco area.
