EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 22, 2001
Infonet Services Corporation (NYSE:IN)(FSE:IN), a leading provider of global communications services for multinationals, today announced the establishment of a wholly owned Canadian operation.
To be known as Infonet Services Canada Inc., the organization will be headquartered in Toronto with satellite offices in Vancouver, Montreal and Calgary. Infonet Services Canada will support local Canadian clients, multinational corporations with worldwide Canadian headquarters as well as multinationals expanding and opening offices within Canada.
The company will provide comprehensive turnkey solutions ranging from building public and private Virtual Private Networks and corporate extranets to provisioning services and providing Help Desk and 24x7 technical support for all Canadian clients.
With Infonet's client base that includes more than 30 percent of the Fortune 500, Infonet Services Canada will be focused on providing global communications services to Canadian-based multinational corporations. Infonet provides these services through its World Network(R), an integrated multi-service network accessible from over 180 countries and 3,000 cities around the world, with local support in more than 60 of those countries.
"We have dealt with more than a dozen different communication carriers on a one-off basis, which made scalability and growth of our communications network very difficult," stated Henry Wilsenack, Worldwide Telecommunications Manager with Seagate Software. "Working with Infonet has made it as easy to do business in Vancouver as in Frankfurt, Sydney or any other global location and to do so cost effectively. We welcome Infonet Services Canada," he observed.
"Infonet has a track record for developing relationships with clients for whom international business is strategically important," stated Mauro Mendoza, Infonet's Regional Director for Canada.
As both a technology leader and a solutions-oriented company, Mendoza believes Infonet is uniquely positioned to provide the range of services that companies based in or operating out of Canada require. He is also committed to leveraging the company's global leadership.
"I joined Infonet to develop and grow an organization that will be responsive to client needs and help them optimize their global network needs," Mendoza commented.
"Mauro's leadership, previous sales and marketing experience and business insight will help to shape Infonet Services Canada. We believe that his expertise will enable us to expand our organization, quickly and effectively," concluded Kevin Landry, Infonet's Vice President and General Manager for the region encompassing Canada.
