Thunderbird School of International Management Announces Global Telecommunications Executive Education Program

The executive education department at Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management Thursday announced the dates of its fall, 2001 Global Telecommunications Management Program.

The two-week seminar is geared to the needs of telecommunications executives with global responsibilities, and provides course work on international strategy, mergers and acquisitions, marketing and finance as well as cross-cultural management. The program will run from Oct. 14-26 on the Thunderbird campus, located in suburban Phoenix. For the past two consecutive years, this program has sold out.

"Continued merger and acquisition activity -- and the inexorable forces of globalization -- are rapidly changing the competitive environment for telecommunications companies," said Sundaresan Ram, Ph.D., academic director of the program. "This seminar will help provide managers with practical strategies to assist their corporations to succeed amid this change."

As with other executive education offerings at Thunderbird, the telecommunications program provides an intense learning environment in which senior managers from many countries gain insight into global corporate strategy. Previous telecommunications offerings at Thunderbird have been attended by executives representing more than 50 nations.

One recent telecommunication program offered at Thunderbird included managers from such firms as Siemens, AT&T, Lucent Technologies, Nortel, and Motorola, as well as representatives from government telecommunication organizations in Australia, Moldova, and Zambia.
