Solution Automatically Pre-Qualifies Time Warner
Subscribers for Broadband Access
BroadJump, Inc., the leader in software solutions for the intelligent fulfillment of broadband services, today announced that Time Warner is deploying BroadJump's Virtual Truck(R) Qualifier in almost half of its divisions nationwide.
Re-branded as Road Runner System Qualifier, Virtual Truck Qualifier pre-qualifies subscribers' computers and serves as a promotional vehicle, ultimately increasing Time Warner's subscriber acquisition rates at minimal cost.
With BroadJump's Virtual Truck Qualifier, Time Warner can determine if potential subscribers have the necessary computing resources to support a broadband connection. Before Time Warner initiates a truck roll, Virtual Truck Qualifier, through an automated pre-qualification process, can determine whether subscribers can proceed with the installation or if they need to upgrade their computer's resources for broadband. Using Virtual Truck Qualifier, Time Warner ensures that only subscribers who can support broadband connections go through the installation process. And because Virtual Truck Qualifier is distributed via CD-ROM and is available via download from each of the Time Warner divisions' Web sites, it serves as a promotional vehicle by which to market Time Warner's broadband service.
"The more efficient we are in our service rollout, the more competitive we are," said Kiman Wong, general manager of Time Warner's Oceanic Cable in Hawaii. "By using BroadJump's Virtual Truck Qualifier, we hope to see dramatic gains in efficiencies on new subscriber installations and the number of support calls we receive. Perhaps most importantly, with Virtual Truck Qualifier, we will be able to qualify subscribers' computers for Road Runner service before sending out a costly and unnecessary truck roll when the PC is not ready for service."
In the case of Time Warner Oceanic Cable, Hawaii, BroadJump helped grow subscriber numbers by enabling them to distribute Road Runner System Qualifier, based on BroadJump technology, as a direct mail CD-ROM and via Web-based download. BroadJump's Professional Services Group developed a front-end menu for Road Runner System Qualifier to seamlessly walk potential subscribers through the pre-qualification process. In addition, Time Warner Oceanic Cable, with virtually no promotion, had hundreds of people download Road Runner System Qualifier from its Web site. BroadJump also assisted Time Warner Oceanic Cable with developing a business card size CD-ROM that included Road Runner System Qualifier that the company handed out at a recent local trade show.
"BroadJump's Virtual Truck Qualifier has been in successful deployment for almost a year helping broadband service providers effectively market their broadband service," said Kenny Van Zant, chief operating officer of BroadJump. "As the broadband market evolves and resources become scarce, Virtual Truck Qualifier becomes even more important to a service provider's success. At the forefront of the cable-broadband market, Time Warner and Road Runner realize the value of staying ahead of the competition - that is why they have chosen BroadJump's solutions."
Road Runner System Qualifier, based on BroadJump technology, is being deployed in 17 Time Warner markets including Bergren, NJ; Binghamton, NY; Central, FL; Detroit, MI; Green Bay, WI; Houston, TX; Jackson/Monroe, MS; Kansas City, KS; Milwaukee, WI; New York City, NY; Oahu, HI; Portland, ME; Raleigh, NC; San Diego, CA; Shreveport, LA; Staten Island, NY; and Waco, TX.
About BroadJump Virtual Truck Qualifier
BroadJump Virtual Truck Qualifier allows broadband service providers to efficiently engage new subscribers by automatically determining if a consumer has the necessary computing resources to become a broadband subscriber. The ability to pre-qualify a consumer's PC environment ensures that when a technician goes on site to pull cable/wiring and provision the PC, the service installation will succeed and the time required to provision the PC will be held to a minimum. Through customization by BroadJump, Virtual Truck Qualifier provides branded messaging to engage the subscriber in the broadband provisioning process by leading the potential subscriber through qualification.
