WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 27, 2001
Gomez, Inc., the Internet quality measurement firm, and Empirix, Inc., an innovative provider of test and monitoring products for Web, voice and data applications, today announced that they will jointly market a real-time Web site monitoring service that offers a continuous, precise and detailed view of overall Web site performance.
By combining the power of the Empirix e-TEST(TM) suite Web application testing technology with the globally distributed monitoring infrastructure of the Gomez Performance Network(TM) (GPN), the new service will give client companies an unprecedented ability to monitor complex Web transactions in real time. Unlike competitive services, the Empirix-Gomez service gives businesses a quick and easy way to recognize, isolate, and resolve Web site performance issues, improve transaction time and avoid downtime. Subscribers of the service can also remotely create and initiate their own transaction monitoring scripts - thereby obtaining instant access to performance data and minimizing risk. Companies will also be able to use the service to benchmark their Web site's performance against competing Web sites, and to receive continuous data on a site's overall quality of experience (QoE) for its on-line customers.
In addition, service providers such as Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) can also use the service to support their service level agreements (SLAs). End-users can rely upon the service to determine whether or not their service providers are meeting their SLAs.
"This partnership with Empirix has significant benefits for our customers," said Jeff Banker, director of the Gomez Performance Network. "By incorporating Empirix transaction-testing technology into GPN, we provide our customers with a convenient and powerful means to emulate complex business transactions while providing a full range of metrics needed to establish leadership in Web-based customer experience."
"We are extremely pleased to be partnering with another authority on Internet quality measurement like Gomez," said Sean Kline, director of Remote Testing Services at Empirix. "Its worldwide infrastructure for measuring Internet quality is a perfect platform for our suite of Web application testing and monitoring technologies, and its loyal following among decision makers in the e-business world is an ideal complement to our strong presence in the Web development and QA communities."
Under the terms of the partnership, e-Tester(TM) from Empirix provides scripting technology that will enable users of the service to improve efficiency and control by remotely generating their own test scripts. In addition, the technology provides support for Java, Flash and JavaScript, offering significantly enhanced support for clients who have incorporated the most advanced technologies into their e-commerce or e-business solutions.
Empirix will also distribute Gomez's existing Web site monitoring service for URL tests, adding greater reach for Gomez while strengthening service offerings from Empirix. Both firms will offer the new monitoring service to clients through their own global sales networks.
