REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 28, 2001

BroadVision, Inc. (Nasdaq:BVSN), a leading provider of personalized e-business applications, today announced that it has signed an agreement with BT Ignite, the broadband and IP data and solutions arm of UK telecommunications provider BT, whereby BT Ignite will offer fully hosted versions of BroadVision(R) e-business software applications. The new agreement brings together BT Ignite's European infrastructure, skills and customer reach with BroadVision's experience in delivering personalized, e-business application solutions. BT Ignite will offer BroadVision-based e-business solutions in a variety of configurations including "off the shelf," template packages as well as customized solutions that include integration into its customers' existing business systems. BT Ignite's customers will have the flexibility to control the way in which they pay for these solutions -- either through the ASP model, up-front or within annuity contracts.

Under the terms of the agreement, BroadVision and BT Ignite intend to develop a joint market plan, joint marketing collateral and sales tools for their respective sales forces. The companies have already worked together to build an eCRM demonstration facility and to deliver integrated solutions for a variety of high-profile clients including Halifax Intelligent Finance, Airtours, and Genie. BroadVision software is also currently used to power BT's online presence, bt.com.

The relationship with BT Ignite represents the largest ASP deal that BroadVision has struck in the UK to date. It is also the largest UK-focused strategic consulting partnership that BroadVision has entered into, and is one of only six such partnerships globally. The addition of BroadVision's software significantly broadens BT Ignite's ASP portfolio, and strongly positions both companies to capitalize on the explosive growth of the worldwide application hosting marketplace which Forrester Research predicts will grow to a value of $11.3 billion by 2003.

"BT Ignite's capability, skills and reach are truly global," said Dr. Pehong Chen, president, chairman and CEO of BroadVision. "This deal enables BroadVision to provide eCRM solutions via a proven infrastructure. BT Ignite has already proven itself in the solutions outsourcing and implementation field, and with its proven heritage and vision it is well placed to become a leading international ASP. I am extremely proud to be partnering with a company of this stature."

"In the online economy, where human contact is minimized, the ability to treat each customer as a valued individual is vital, whatever your type or size of business," said Sally Davis, president of BT Ignite Application Services (the ASP unit within BT Ignite). "BroadVision's best of breed applications have already helped many businesses increase customer loyalty and turn web hits into buying transactions at previously unheard-of levels. We are looking forward to delivering these exceptional benefits through the ASP model to our business customers around the world."
