Home Gateway to the Internet Gives Homebuyers

`Plug and Play' Access to Digital Services

FutureSmart Networks today announced that it has been selected as the exclusive provider of structured wiring and home networking for the Show Village showcase home at the 2001 International Builder's Show.

D.R. Horton, Inc. will build the home in a parking lot adjacent to the show. The show takes place at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, February 9-12, 2001.

The FutureSmart system integrates voice, Internet, video, security, and home automation all in one networked system. The system includes state-of-the-art home wiring, a central distribution panel and multi-media receptacles in each room of the house. Each receptacle provides high-speed phone lines and coaxial cable (with a fiber option) to deliver communications and entertainment throughout the home.

"By integrating voice, data, and video services into a central distribution center, the FutureSmart system gives homebuyers the kinds of digital services they want -- including shared high speed Internet access and in-home networking of computers, security, and entertainment," said Robert Kyle, CEO of FutureSmart. "FutureSmart's solution gives builders and homebuyers an unparalleled solution that yields a Futureproof(R) home -- one with the ability to take advantage of virtually any new high speed service of the future without rewiring."

FutureSmart will also give a preview of FutureView, its new "video over Internet" product at the Show Village House and at the FutureSmart exhibit booth (No. 546). The FutureView system will also be shown in the Bell South exhibit booth (No. 652). The product allows home owners to view video cameras in their home from a PC anywhere in the world. Homeowners can use it to monitor their children or repairmen in the home. Builders can use it as a link from prospective home buyers to their model homes.
