Eric Piaget, CXR's director of transmission and network access products stated: "This exciting new IP capability is unlike our previous capability, which used an external Single Network Management Protocol (SNMP) proxy agent. This new management card is based on native IP technology. It will support TELNET, SNMP and also HTTP using a standard browser such as Microsoft Explorer(c)."
Jacques Moisset, CXR's president, stated, "The new IP processor is a major technical accomplishment that brings added features to an already proven and easy to use chassis design and is fully compatible with our recently announced MSDSL high speed multi-rate modem cards.
"We believe the IP processor card provides an exciting feature and capability that will make our range of transmission and network access products more competitive in the market place since it is our belief that the capability is the newest state of the art in network management systems."
Graham Jefferies, MicroTel's EVP and COO of its Telecom Group, stated, "Now that we have brought Internet connectivity and control and integration capability to our transmission and network access products our next challenge is to bring similar IP connectivity to our range of test instruments."
