BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 6, 2001
The Delphi Group (www.delphigroup.com) has targeted a group of X-Market companies poised for market success, expanding its B2B50 index with the launch of the Delphi 100 Index.
From the start of Delphi's tracking of the B2B market in June of 1999, through the market's freefall in March of 2000, and its arrhythmic volatility to the present day, the B2B50 has been a bellwether for leading edge e-business.

The B2B50 Index cruised into 2000 riding a 2,054-point gain built over the latter half of 1999. The Index reached a zenith of 2,940 in mid-March, and then tumbled deep into negative territory (to -924) as the year 2000 concluded. Over a third of the companies in the Delphi B2B50 lost over 90% of their value; over half lost 80% or more.
Starting today, Delphi Group has expanded its index to provide a broad analysis of market trends across primary B2B e-business sectors. Added to the index are publicly traded companies in Enterprise Wireless, e-Content, and e-Learning sectors.
"Within each sector," notes Thomas M. Koulopoulos, Delphi president, and author of The X-Economy (Texere 2001) "there are many new entrants and some exceptionally solid long term players. In the e-Content sector, for example, a number of companies we are tracking outperformed the market by 22 to 50% during the NASDAQ freefall late in the year 2000."
The Delphi 100 Index which can be viewed at http://www.delphi100.com/ reflects the increase/decrease in a hypothetical portfolio of up to 100 companies in B2B, e-Learning, e-Content, and Wireless segments. The Index tracks the gain/loss of a single share of stock in each company since the index was formed on January 1, 2001. The main page compares the percent return of each e-business segment against the NASDAQ and provides links to additional information.
