CAMPBELL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 8, 2001
ClickSoftware (NASDAQ: CKSW), a leading provider of end-to-end service chain optimization solutions for service organizations, has announced the licensing of its ClickSchedule software solution to the Ohio Department of Commerce (ODC). ODC's Division of Industrial Compliance will use ClickSchedule to more efficiently schedule and dispatch Construction Compliance field inspectors and Operations and Maintenance field inspectors to conduct various types of building, elevator, boiler, and bedding inspections throughout Ohio.
The Ohio Department of Commerce's mission is to efficiently serve the health, safety and welfare of Ohio's workers and citizens by overseeing the competency and continued education of individuals and companies who build, modify, and maintain structures and building systems within Ohio.
The inspections conducted by the Ohio Department of Commerce are essential to the safety, health and well-being of the citizens of Ohio. ODC anticipates improvements through more efficient and effective scheduling of resources, including the ability to minimize travel time between assignments, load balancing of schedules, and optimization of on-demand and scheduled inspections.
In this system, expected to go live in March, ODC will be integrating ClickSchedule with their existing FOCUS Job Ticket Entry system. A custom integration module will be developed by ClickSoftware to allow the FOCUS system to interactively book appointments for "on demand" inspections. An electronic job ticket listing each field inspector's daily schedule will be produced by the FOCUS system, which will be emailed to the departmental fax server for subsequent transmission to the inspector's fax machine. Feedback from the field to the dispatch center will be via telephone; only those inspections that must be rescheduled will be reported back to the dispatch center.
In the future, ODC plans to fully automate the distribution of tasks to each inspector which will eliminate paperwork and reduce delays in responding to constituencies.
"The Ohio Department of Commerce has a prodigious task coordinating the schedules of all their inspectors," said Dr. Moshe BenBassat, CEO of ClickSoftware. "We are confident that the ODC, as well as the citizens of Ohio whom the department serves, will see the benefits of the scheduling solution almost immediately."
