John Denniston Leaves Salomon Smith Barney as Head of Technology Investment Banking in the Western U.S.; Moves to Kleiner Perkins as Chief Operating Officer

Today, Salomon Smith Barney announces that John Denniston has decided to leave the firm to become the Chief Operating Officer at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. No replacement has been named at this time.
John joined SSB in September of 1999 as the Head of Technology Investment Banking for the Western U.S. Prior to joining our team, John was a partner at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP with 15 years of experience in the technology, venture capital and financial sectors. While John was the Head of Technology Investment Banking for the Western U.S., SSB gained in stature within the technology community and completed a large number of transactions.
