XML One Austin 2001

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 9, 2001

In its third regional installment, SIGS/101's XML One (www.xmlconference.com/austin) returns to the heart of the Texas IT community this March 5-8, with an intense focus on XML's increasingly sophisticated applications.

In what has become the industry's most respected XML event, delegates will find a technical program designed to parallel the rapid growth of the technology as a whole.

During the four-day conference, keynotes and expert panels will be presented and moderated by leading industry professionals. Opening the XML One conference is Bob Bickel of HP Bluestone. His keynote will focus on open architecture for e-business. CTO of the recently merged Hewlett Packard and Bluestone, Bickel will "map out the technical details of how to build a loosely integrated, standards-based e-Business platform."

Attendees will learn, among other things, how XML simplifies data exchange and about emerging standards in the realm of XML. Keynote presentations will also be given by Chris Horak of Software AG and Steve Holbrook, Track Chair of XML One Austin and Technology Evangelist at IBM Corporation.

Two expert panels augment the technical program, the first moderated by Graham Glass, CEO of The Mind Electric. Entitled "ML, SOAP, and UDDI -- enabling standards for interoperability in web services," panelists include representatives from Saffron Technologies, IBM, Microsoft and netEXE Inc.

Ron Schmelzer, a senior analyst and editor of ZapThink, will moderate the second expert panel "XML eBusiness Standards -- the latest developments." Panelists from MetaGroup, ebizQ.net, Sun Microsystems and Securant will join Schmelzer.

Held in its second consecutive year at the Renaissance Hotel, Austin, Texas, XML One will feature two days of exhibitions by the industry's most significant product vendors and service providers.

On Tuesday, March 6 and Wednesday, March 7, developers, systems architects and engineers from across the enterprise will have the opportunity to test the latest offerings from Corporate Sponsors such as IBM, Microsoft and Software AG.

Other exhibitors include Chrystal Software, Breezefactor, Developmentor, Rational and TIBCO Extensiblity. Technical Briefings will be offered by Radview Software and Chrystal Software during exhibition hours.
