Former CIA Director Joins Advanced Biometrics' Board; Dr. Robert M. Gates Brings Expertise to New Security Technology Products

Advanced Biometrics Inc. (ABI) announced today the appointment of former Director of U.S. Central Intelligence Dr. Robert M. Gates, 57, to the company's board of directors.
Drawing from his 27-year tenure at the CIA, Dr. Gates' security and intelligence expertise will help guide product implementation of the company's biometric technology, LiveGrip(TM). This technology is the first to use infrared light to measure the substructure of the hand for positive identification in many applications, including: online transactions, entry into secured access areas, time clocks and more.
Dr. Gates headed the CIA as director under former President George Bush, and during his career served six presidents and spent nearly nine years with the National Security Council at the White House.
Among his collection of awards, Dr. Gates has most notably received the CIA's highest honor, the Distinguished Intelligence Medal, three times. He is currently serving as interim dean of the George Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University.
