dynaSight Certified For SAP BW 2.0; arcplan Becomes First Third Party Vendor to Pass the Test

dynaSight(R), the arcplan development & deployment solution for SAP Business Information Warehouse (SAP BW), has been officially certified by SAP AG.

As there are now two interfaces available for the BW, arcplan passed through the extensive testing procedure and was awarded with new certifications for the interface OLE DB for OLAP (BW-ODB) and the native BAPI (BW-OBI). These new interfaces (BW-OBI was just released by SAP) are available with the latest dynaSight version (3.0).

The announcement, which will appear on the SAP Web site in the coming days, clearly pronounces dynaSight as the first and up to now only Third Party tool, certified for the BW-OBI interface for BW 2.0.

arcplan has successfully provided its front end for the SAP data warehouse for several years and was granted a SAP-Certification for the BW-ODB of the dynaSight development environment inSight(R) in the past. For BW 2.0 though, the interface was further refined and arcplan again successfully breezed through the certification process.

This step was taken to ensure that users accessing the SAP BW with either interface could be guaranteed the high quality data access that has become synonymous with arcplan solutions.

After completing tests successfully, the native BAPI integrated in dynaSight has as well been certified by SAP.

As a reference, SAP's native BW data access tool, the Business Explorer(R), also uses this interface. With the successful certification, arcplan's dynaSight becomes the only other solution that permits direct access to SAP BW 2.0 data via the native BAPI and for SAP customers, this means that all the functionalities related to SAP BW are fully supported through the arcplan interface.

It has also been proven that direct access to SAP BW Query Cubes in this manner allows for faster data analysis - and when considering the ease of development and deployment that arcplan already boasts - arcplan's already leading market share should continue to increase. Furthermore, the necessary ODBO component updates for new releases or patches can be eliminated.

This means that customers using the native BAPI will enjoy both a decrease in administration and maintenance.

A comprehensive test report from SAP gives reference to the outstanding performance of dynaSight for the certification procedure as the integrated arcplan solution met all the criteria recommended to the fullest extent.

arcplan is now the only third-party company with official and tested access using to the BW via OBI and the only company that continues to allow their customers the choice of two interfaces for data access.
