SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 15, 2001

The iCAP Forum of leading Internet companies will host a free half-day seminar at the Doubletree Hotel in San Jose on January 25, 2001. This seminar, hosted by iCAP Forum members 8e6 Technologies, Everypath, Inc., Network Appliance, Inc., Trend Micro, and Zack Network, will feature in-depth presentations on preparing and scaling networks to meet the demands of edge services by utilizing the Internet Content Adaptation Protocol (iCAP). Information topics will include ways to implement new revenue sources, operate with emerging access devices, and discover innovative ways to improve network efficiency and security, as well as employee productivity. Technology demonstrations will include iCAP Jive, video on demand, and Network Appliance(TM)ContentDirector(TM) and ContentReporter(TM) software.

Key to delivering these solutions is iCAP - personalizing the Internet experience by delivering rich content and services packaged for individual specificity. As an open architecture, iCAP provides the common communication infrastructure to deliver value-added services like content filtering, virus scanning, wireless content delivery, human language translation, and targeted ad insertion at the edge of the Internet, allowing end users to leverage the ASP model for revenue generation and Internet outsourcing.

"We continue to see interest in additional services enabled by iCAP technology that can expand the content delivery market to almost limitless proportions," said Lee Duggs, director of edge services for the content delivery business unit at Network Appliance. "iCAP solutions can help customers evolve their business services to the next level with farther-reaching deployments, new functionality, and seamless integration from the data center to the network edge."
