In a new study, 56 percent of low-to-moderate income inner-city adults said they knew little or nothing about the Internet. The respondents said cost was the major obstacle to becoming computer literate and accessing the Internet. ESA SATELLITE DATA GIVES YACHTSMEN A COMPETITIVE EDGE

Yachtsmen in the Southern Ocean are sailing with a new 'atlas of the ocean' as they struggle against high winds and freezing temperatures to win two of the world's most extreme yacht races. The project, called Cliosat, was developed with data gathered by the European Space Agency's satellites and others. The atlas provides historical information, such as wind speeds and wave heights, on 170 zones in the world's oceans.
