Management & Delivery
Complete Business Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:CBSI), a global technology services company, today announced that its Public Sector Software Development Center, located in Columbus, Ohio, has earned the distinction, and will be recognized as operating at Level Three of the Capability Maturity Model (CMM(R)) as defined by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI).
Global Systems Technology, an authorized assessment agency based in San Diego, California, conducted the assessment.
"Our strategy and schedule for our software engineering process improvement program was ambitious, but reaching this maturity level in such a short timeframe is a significant achievement that we can all be proud of," said Columbus Development Center Vice President Scott Pape, who sponsored the certification process.
The Capability Maturity Model for Software is a model for determining the maturity of an organization's software engineering and management processes. CBSI now has a domestic software development center that is operating at an advanced level in the area of software development and project management. Level Three Certification denotes that activities completed over the past year have resulted in improvements in project management and software engineering practices. The Columbus Development Center, which has 160 full-time employees, supports numerous public sector technology initiatives in public retirement, child care, and child support.
"I'm proud of our recent achievement of Level Three certification. It is a direct reflection of the Development Center's expertise and diligent efforts," said CBSI Vice President Lon Tiggelaar, the Retirement Practice leader. "This expert-based CMM(R) designation will benefit both current and new customers as we continue to evolve and even further mature our delivery capabilities. This milestone certainly communicates CBSI's competency in delivering public sector advanced technology solutions".
