CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 2, 2001
First 50 second ESP player hits stage at the Consumer Electronics
Show, January 6-9, Las Vegas, MP3 Pavilion, Convention Center,
North Halls 3-4, Booth 6645
Consumers can now listen to burned MP3 files on the move skip-free as PINE Technology USA launches its second generation MP3 CD player at CES.
The SM-200C offers an improved 50 sec. ESP anti-shock mechanism, compared to the original version, to give listeners endless hours of skip-free MP3 listening. In addition, the player comes with new features such as resume play and an album search function, allowing users to easily search for their favorite songs. The player will be available in Q1 and is priced at $229.
"The SM-200C is everything that consumers demand from a regular CD player, yet goes a level higher into the MP3 realm," said Jesse Li, product marketing manager of Internet Appliances at PINE Technology USA. "Consumers get skip-free MP3 listening from CDs which can hold up to 200 songs. By providing ID3-tag capability, our players display the artist and song name clearly on the LCD screen. Along with the new album search function, users can easily locate songs and spend time listening to their favorite music, instead of searching for it."
PINE will also introduce an entry level MP3 CD player at the show. The D'music SM-300T is a thinner version of its counterpart SM-200C that offers users 4.5 hours of MP3 music and audio CD playback. The player comes with a large LCD display, five-band equalizer, remote control headphones, and album search, playback and repeat functions. It is aggressively priced at $139 and will be available in early Q1.
"Digital audio hardware is very price driven and consumers are always on the lookout for the new and exciting products that offer the best bang for their buck," added Li. "PINE is committed to develop the products that listeners demand and with this, the SM-300T brings a high quality, price friendly MP3 CD player to the market."
PINE representatives will be on hand to demonstrate the D'music SM-200C and D'music SM-300T in the MP3 Pavilion at Booth 6645. Also on display will be PINE's new SA6400, D'music Palmp-3 and its first digital optical device, PINE Cam Z100.
