- Growth in Firewall Sales Abroad Fuels Demand for Increased

Support Presence

CyberGuard Corporation (OTC:CYBG), the technology leader in network security, today announced a major expansion in its worldwide customer support services.

The company is working with Equant (NYSE: ENT) (Paris Bourse: EQU), a leading global provider of maintenance and network support services, to offer comprehensive support for CyberGuard's security products around the clock and around the world.

In addition to call center support in foreign countries, the partnership will allow CyberGuard to offer global on-site service and, for the first time, support for the hardware component of CyberGuard's appliance firewalls. Equant's geographically dispersed customer support is available in more than 140 countries, which means that, in the event of a hardware problem, CyberGuard customers can have a replacement appliance up and running at their locations anywhere in the world often in a matter of hours.

"This is a direct result of the demand for our new line of firewall appliances internationally," said Laurel Mueller, CyberGuard's director of worldwide support. "CyberGuard has experienced rapid growth abroad, particularly throughout the Pacific Rim. By partnering with Equant, a company well known for its high caliber of service, we will be able to provide our customers with hardware and software support wherever they are, whenever they need it, on site and in their native languages."

Richard Blaustein, vice president, Equant, stated, "We are pleased to provide CyberGuard with hardware support for their appliance firewalls. With Equant's global reach, we are able to assist CyberGuard by providing around-the-clock support. We look forward to serving CyberGuard's customers with the world-class customer service and professionalism our customers are used to and their customers demand."

Over the last year, CyberGuard introduced three premium appliance firewalls designed for businesses with rigorous security needs and a range of performance requirements from small to very large sized networks--CyberGuard(R) STARLord(TM), KnightSTAR(TM) and FireSTAR(TM). As awareness of the need for security has increased, demand for the pre-configured, easy-to-implement firewall appliances has picked up, particularly in overseas markets.

CyberGuard currently has 11 domestic offices as well as operations in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the Middle East and Asia.
