WAYNE, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 23, 2001

Thousands of Hours of Spoken Audio Now Accessible for

AudibleReady(TM) Iomega HipZip Users

Iomega Corporation (NYSE: IOM) and Audible, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADBL) today announced an agreement to offer the Audible(R) Internet audio service for Iomega's HipZip(TM) digital audio player. Audible is the leading provider of Internet-delivered spoken audio for mobile playback on AudibleReady(TM) portable digital devices.

By mid-year, Iomega HipZip(TM) digital audio players will ship with upgraded firmware and software which will allow HipZip users to access thousands of digital audio titles for download and mobile playback from audible.com(TM). At that time, current owners of existing HipZip units will be able to easily upgrade their players through a download from Iomega.com. HipZip players use 40MB PocketZip(TM) disks that cost as little as $10 per disk and can store more than 10 hours of Audible audio, making them the economical alternative to expensive solid state media.

Audible.com features daily selected audio content from The Wall Street Journal and daily digests of The New York Times, San Jose Mercury News, Los Angeles Times, and Slate-- all available on a subscription basis in time for the morning drive to work each day-- as well as The Economist, The Industry Standard, Forbes, Harvard Business Review and Scientific American. The site also offers a powerful collection of audiobook best sellers and classics by authors such as Stephen King, John Grisham, Frank McCourt, Jon Krakauer, Scott Adams, Mary Higgins Clark, James Redfield, James Patterson, William Shakespeare, Emily Dickinson and Jane Austen. There are also speeches, lectures and on-demand radio programs including Marketplace, All Things Considered(R), Car Talk, Fresh Air and This American Life.

"Audible's advanced digital delivery technology and wide selection of content will offer HipZip users extensive spoken audio options," said Doug Collier, vice president of Marketing, Product Management, and Business Development at Iomega Corporation. "The low cost of PocketZip disks allows HipZip users to easily and affordably archive news and carry an unlimited number of audiobooks and other content."

"Audible is pleased to offer our Internet audio content and services to users of the Iomega HipZip digital audio player," said Guy Story, chief scientist at Audible, Inc. "We are confident that Audible's timely news and information, in addition to compelling entertainment, will be a valued addition to the HipZip listener's experience."
