CEO of RS Information Systems Honored By African-American Group

Rodney P. Hunt, the President and CEO of a McLean, Va.-based information technology company whose revenues more than doubled last year, is among the year 2000 recipients of the national Marketing Opportunities in Business, or MOBE, awards given to African-American technology entrepreneurs.
Hunt founded RS Information Systems (RSIS) with Scott Amey, the firm's senior vice president, in 1992. Over the past three years, the company's revenues have risen from $15.5 million in 1998 to $34 million in 1999 to nearly $80 million last year.
In the same period, the size of the RSIS professional staff has grown from 200 to nearly 800 nationwide.
RSIS provides advanced technical and business solutions in information technology, science and engineering to government and commercial clients. The company has a funded contract backlog of $450 million.
The awards, presented at MOBE's Internet Technology Symposium in Chicago, recognized achievement and innovation in cyberspace technology. MOBE's goal is to help create business opportunities for African-American entrepreneurs. The organization conducts a series of advanced marketing and technology symposia sponsored by leading companies.
