Tellium, Inc., provider of the world's first in-service intelligent optical switches, today announced that Dr. Lih Lin, Tellium's director of optical technologies, will participate in an optical switching panel discussion at COMNET 2001, the communications networking conference. The conference will be held from Jan. 29 through Feb. 1 at the Washington, D.C., Convention Center.
Dr. Lin will take part in the optical switching panel on Wednesday, Jan. 31, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. The discussion, moderated by Sue O'Keefe, editor-in-chief of Telecommunications Magazine, will focus on how the development of this new network element alters the way networks are built and the benefits that result from this new architecture. It will also include a discussion on the advantages of OEO conversion in contrast to all-optical switches.
