Business Week Magazine Awards OmniSky Top Honor; Wireless E-mail and Internet Service Named One of "Best Products of 2000"

OmniSky Corporation (NASDAQ: OMNY), an award-winning provider of branded wireless e-mail and Internet services for users of PDAs, was recognized by Business Week as one of the "Best Products of 2000".

The magazine's special report, published on December 18, highlighted 28 innovative products in categories including technology, automotive, culinary arts, fashion, medicine and entertainment.

According to the Business Week editorial staff, OmniSky earned this distinction for its wireless e-mail and Internet service that provides "loads of wireless functions for the Palm V and Handspring Visor ... it lets you fetch e-mail from any standard Internet service and browse the Web." The service also is available for Hewlett Packard's Jornada 540 Series and will be available for the Compaq iPAQ Pocket PC in the first-half of 2001.

Metricom, an OmniSky technology partner, also received acknowledgement from Business Week for its wireless Ricochet modem. OmniSky announced plans at Comdex 2000 to trial its wireless e-mail and Internet service on the Ricochet network using the Compaq iPAQ. Trials will begin in the first half of 2001.
