OSLO, Norway--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 30, 2001

PricewaterhouseCoopers Norway (PwC) and Becca Software Tuesday announced their decision to select Mobile Automation as their strategic platform for total systems management within the company.

For the IT department, managing a highly mobile environment widespread across Norway with some 1,200 clients enables the execution of a complete new set of systems management functions within the company, regardless of physical connections and lines.

"We were looking for a systems management solution to meet our needs with a highly mobile infrastructure," said Trond Jamessen, IT manager at PwC. "We had already experienced that the traditional LAN based tools could not provide us the level of functionality we needed.

"Our local partnership with Becca Software, the Nordic distributor of MA2000, made it clear for us that MA2000 was the answer to our needs. MA2000 will give us the ability to execute the level of service, control and availability we were looking for, utilizing the Internet as a transport mechanism.

"Thereby we could utilize our existing intranet structure at no additional cost when executing MA2000 functions. In fact, all that we needed to establish in terms of infrastructure was the related server functions.

"We are already very impressed with the capabilities of MA2000, providing us with all of the important systems management functions such as desktop management, deployment, inventory control and more, saving us important time and money while we maintain the control necessary for the data integrity within the company," said Jamessen.

PwC has a 100 percent mobile workforce (i.e. all laptops) connected to the company network at various times.

"They represent the company's most valuable assets and need to be managed and protected," said Robert W. Bang, managing director of Becca Software. "We proved to PwC that MA2000 was able to execute these functions, putting IT staff in control and saving time and money.

"We are very pleased about PwC Norway's selection of Mobile Automation 2000 as the strategic solution for their total systems management needs."

The Mobile Automation MA2000 Enterprise Edition is the industry's leading systems management solution for handling both a company's mobile and traditional desktop clients, connected with different lines and modems. The enterprise edition architecture also brings the scalability needed to perform the task of managing multiple external clients from a central location.
