IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 30, 2001

Procom Technology Inc. (Nasdaq:PRCM), manufacturer of data storage and access appliances and pioneer in network attached storage (NAS), today announced that it has joined the VERITAS (Nasdaq:VRTS) Vplus(TM) Solutions Provider Partner Program.

Procom has incorporated data protection technology utilizing the Network Data Management Protocol (NDMP) open standard to support VERITAS Software's data protection software with its NetFORCE 3000 enterprise NAS filers. VERITAS software supports the NDMP standard through an extension of VERITAS NetBackup(TM).

Remote management and high-speed localized data backup are now possible for NDMP clients on NetFORCE(TM) 3000 enterprise NAS filers. Network saturation is thus avoided when backup is localized to attached tape libraries.

The combination of NetFORCE NAS filers, NDMP and VERITAS NetBackup provides simple, centralized administration and backup of large-scale, heterogeneous environments.

"We are dedicated to providing our enterprise customers with an architecture that not only addresses their multi-protocol storage needs, but also provides the necessary tools for deploying the leading UNIX backup solution. By partnering with VERITAS Software, we are able to better address the needs of enterprise IT managers," said Page Tagizad, director of Product Management for Procom Technology.

"Our direct link as a VERITAS Vplus Solutions Provider Partner ensures full compatibility on an ongoing basis and access to expert technical staff."
