State Street Corporation Elects Dr. Linda A. Hill to Its Board of Directors

State Street Corporation (NYSE:STT), one of the world's leading providers of financial and information services to sophisticated investors, announced today the election of Dr. Linda A. Hill to its Board of Directors. Dr. Hill, the Wallace Brett Donham Professor of Business Administration in the Organizational Behavior Area at Harvard Business School, joins the 19-person Board of Directors immediately.

Dr. Hill is co-faculty chair, Global Leadership Initiative, and faculty chair, Young Presidents' Organization Presidents' Seminar. Her book, Becoming A Manager: Mastery of a New Identity, explores the challenges of making the transition from star producer to manager. She is also the author of Power and Influence: Getting Things Done in Organizations, of two New Media Invision award-winning multimedia management development programs: High Performance Management and Coaching, and of e-Learning products including Managing for Performance. Professor Hill's consulting and executive education series are in the areas of managing change, managing interfunctional relationships, globalization, career management and leadership development.

Professor Hill is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Cooper Industries, the Boards of Trustees of the Rockefeller Foundation, Bryn Mawr College, The Children's Museum, Boston, and the Board of Overseers of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, and the Andersen Executive Program Advisory Group. She is also on the Advisory Boards of the American Repertory Theatre, Independent Means, and the Getty Leadership Institute for Museum Management.

Dr. Hill did a post-doctoral research fellowship at the Harvard Business School and she earned a Ph.D. in Behavioral Sciences at the University of Chicago. She received her M.A. in Educational Psychology with a concentration in measurement and evaluation at the University of Chicago. She has an A.B., summa cum laude, in psychology from Bryn Mawr College.
