Faroudja, a division of Sage Inc. (Nasdaq:SAGI) and widely considered a leader in video-enhancing technologies for professional and home environments, is pleased to announce that its DVP5000 and DVP3000 Digital Video Processor/Scalers have received a series of awards, including one to be presented at the 2001 International Consumer Electronics Show, beginning today in Las Vegas.

The awards testify to the quality and innovation represented by the flagship DVP5000 and companion DVP3000, as well as the high regard in which they are held. At CES, the DVP5000 is the recipient of an Innovations 2001 Award by the Consumer Electronics Association. The awards, presented during the show, honor significant advances in the design and performance of audio/video equipment.

The DVP5000 also received a prestigious Editor's Choice Award for Video Processor of the Year from Stereophile Guide to Home Theater, which called the DVP5000 "an amazing technological accomplishment" in its awards citation and also urged readers to "check out" the DVP3000.

Both processors, the DVP5000 and DVP3000, received a Best Stuff 2000 Award by BestStuff.com, a Web site devoted to consumer product news and reviews with an emphasis on technology and lifestyle reporting. "The Faroudja family of processors is simply the best and has been for years," said Best Stuff in its awards citation.

Faroudja's family of home theater products also received a Best of Convertors designation by Knews and PresentationMaster in their Best of 2000 Awards. The online industry news services noted in their awards citation on PresentationMaster.com that Faroudja "really zoned in to the home market and created products to meet most customers' needs. Most Faroudja home systems are really incredible."

The DVP5000 and DVP3000 Digital Video Processor/Scalers are powerful picture processing tools that combine advanced, proprietary circuitry with features designed to make them easy to use and integrate into Home Theaters. While the extraordinary DVP5000 is the first video processor on the market to automatically upconvert 1080i (interlaced) high-definition signals to 1080p (progressive) resolution, all of Faroudja's digital video processors incorporate numerous refinements designed to optimize CRT projectors as well as other projector technologies, including DLP, LCD and Plasma.

The DVP5000 and DVP3000 can be seen, along with demonstrations of Faroudja's video processors and other outstanding products, in Booth 6259, Las Vegas Convention Center, during CES.
