Sigma Designs MPEG Silicon Selected By DTVRo For New Interactive Set-Top Box Designs; Featuring VOD, Streaming Video, and DVD Playback

Sigma Designs, Inc., (Nasdaq:SIGM), a recognized leader in digital video decoder solutions, today announced that its REALmagic MPEG decoder silicon (EM8400) has been incorporated into DTVRo, Inc.'s, latest Set-Top Box (STB) designs, featuring Video-On-Demand (VOD), Video Streaming and DVD playback, all which will be shown at the 2001 International CES show in DTVRo's booth number 4847X, in the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Sigma's technology will be incorporated into both the "Personal TV" Set-Top Box and the advanced "Streaming" Set-Top box. The "Personal TV" STB allows consumers to enjoy various services such as Internet web surfing, email, listening to audio CD, watching DVD movies, home shopping, trading stock, and other related capabilities. The more advanced Set-Top Box, the "Streaming STB," is also capable of streaming video from a broadband connection.
