HAMILTON, Bermuda--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 9, 2001
Global e-Biz Ltd., a 21st Century digital trading house working to make today's leading regional manufacturers tomorrow's Global 2000, has selected the Microsoft .NET (dot-net) platform to develop its international trade software infrastructure. Global e-biz believes its end-to-end software solution will create a first mover advantage as it works to revolutionize international trade in manufactured goods.
Microsoft .NET is based on the idea of shifting from individual Web sites or devices connected to the Internet, to constellations of computers, devices and services that work together to deliver broader, richer solutions. Microsoft .NET envisions an Internet where individuals and businesses can access information anytime, anywhere, and from any device while adhering to new leading edge standards that will enable B2B e-commerce. Microsoft .NET will focus on integrated, intelligent, and interactive solutions by which businesses can bring together employees, customers, information and business applications to grow more efficient, effective, and competitive in the global marketplace.
Global e-biz's digital trading house combines a physical network of Global Sales Offices (GSOs) in leading trade centers around the world, with a comprehensive business, server and transactional infrastructure in Bermuda, and a unique global e-business software system. Through this combination, Global e-biz intends to build new sales in global markets for leading, regional manufacturers by providing them with seamless access to the knowledge, technology and infrastructure required to find new customers, grow sales and complete transactions worldwide.
Global Sales Offices are currently open in Seattle, Vancouver, and Hamilton, Bermuda with plans to expand into Europe, Hong Kong, Dubai and South America in 2001.
"Global e-Biz has an impressive vision for its end-to-end global trade software system," said Dave Daniels, Director, E-Solutions & Technology, Microsoft Canada. "It makes exceptional use of the .NET platform and should expand sales and reduce transaction costs for their manufacturing partners and international customers. Microsoft has a strategic relationship with Global e-Biz and fully supports their development on the .NET platform."
"Microsoft's .NET technology provides the only comprehensive platform available to implement our vision of a global trade application delivering rich content to many different devices over the many different connectivity environments that exist around the world," said Jeff Brock, CEO of Global e-biz. " Our manufacturing partners and international customers need rich content and high transactional functionality whether they are connected over traditional dial-up to the Internet, using a wireless connection or operating un-tethered. The .NET technology suite will allow us to dramatically change how our partners do business around the world. Microsoft's global lead in software innovation is unrivaled, and we are confident that .NET is the best solution for our partners and international customers."
