SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 10, 2001

Caimis' TE Manager Suite Offers Optimized Routing, Path and

Traffic Performance to Juniper Networks Service Provider Customers

Caimis Inc., a developer of network monitoring and management tools, Tuesday announced its participation in the new Juniper Networks (NASDAQ:JNPR) program that pairs service provider and carrier customers with leading software vendors developing network management applications for Juniper Networks Internet backbone routers.

With Caimis' participation in the Alliance focusing on IP Operational Support System (OSS), service providers and carriers have the ability to implement enhanced routing, path and traffic performance with the Caimis TE Manager suite, assuring it will run seamlessly with their Juniper Networks Internet backbone routers.

"To keep the world's most sophisticated MPLS-based backbone operating at peak efficiency, we require tools that provide us with detailed visibility into all aspects of our routing performance," said Denver Maddux, senior manager, traffic engineering of Global Crossing. "Caimis' RouteReporter(TM) provides Global Crossing with that control."

Juniper Networks IP OSS Alliance (IOA) pairs service provider and carrier customers with leading software vendors who are developing network management solutions to work seamlessly with Juniper Networks Internet backbone routers.

"Our customers not only demand high standards for router performance, but also require sophisticated tools to monitor and optimize their traffic," said Kevin Dillon, director, product marketing of Juniper Networks. "Juniper Networks is pleased to have Caimis as a member of the Network Management Alliance, supporting our service provider and carrier customers' needs for traffic engineering software for analyzing routing, path and traffic performance."

Caimis is one of more than 20 vendors participating in the Alliance. As the world's only vendor offering Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) route monitoring software, Caimis' RouteReporter enables providers and large enterprises to control their BGP routing.

Caimis' customer list includes some of the world's largest network providers, including Global Crossing, MFN/Abovenet, and UUNET.

Caimis' TE Manager software currently covers routing and path performance with RouteReporter and Skitter(TM). By generating detailed reports on specific network prefixes, BGP peers and autonomous systems, RouteReporter allows providers to baseline routing performance, track routing stability trends as the network grows and identify routing problems in real-time for corrective action.

Skitter is a path performance monitoring and analysis tool enabling rapid identification of symptoms affecting path availability, roundtrip time, packet loss and stability. Caimis is adding to the suite with traffic performance software, which will be available later in the year.

"Real-time monitoring and optimization of IP routing are fundamental components of operating networks all around the world," said Tracie Monk, president and CEO of Caimis Inc. "Since both Caimis and our TE Manager software are new-to-market, strategic partnerships with key vendors like Juniper Networks are important components of our communications and marketing strategy, both here in the U.S. and abroad."
