MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 10, 2001
TOYO Corp. to Market TestQuest's Test Automation Products
and Services to Japanese Market
TestQuest, Inc., the leader in automated, non-intrusive product testing for computer and embedded systems, today announced an agreement with TOYO Corp., a leading Japanese distributor of test and measurement systems, pursuant to which TOYO will distribute TestQuest's test automation products and services in Japan.
The agreement further accelerates TestQuest's worldwide sales efforts, reinforcing the company's presence in Asia where its products have already been deployed with technology vendors such as Nokia and Samsung. It also builds on momentum created by the recent opening of TestQuest's European office and release of TestQuest Pro 3.2, an enhanced version of the company's flagship testing product that allows customers to validate results of automated tests on electronic products that display international characters.
TOYO, which reported $234 million in sales for fiscal year 2000, will market and sell TestQuest's solutions to Japanese manufacturers in the wireless/handheld, general computing and interactive television markets. TOYO will also provide support for TestQuest's current Japanese customers.
"There is an urgent need among Japanese manufacturers of computer and information appliance products such as cell phones, handhelds and computer and interactive TV systems to automate the functional testing of their products," said Martin Hahn, president and chief executive officer of TestQuest. "TOYO is the premiere provider of engineering tools and services to this community, and we are excited to capitalize on this incredible opportunity with them."
"TestQuest's test automation solutions are very complimentary to our service offerings and customer base," said Kohzo Yumoto, president of TOYO Corp. "Our sales and technical personnel have solid backgrounds in engineering and a deep understanding of the stringent requirements from Japan's technology industries for reliable, repeatable and thorough testing solutions. TOYO's capabilities and customer base create the perfect channel to proliferate TestQuest's superior automated testing solutions in the Japanese market. We have carefully examined TestQuest's growing success in the North American market and are confident that we can replicate that success in Japan."
TestQuest Pro Features
TestQuest's test automation products replace labor-intensive manual testing. The company's flagship product, TestQuest Pro, automates the test process by acting as a virtual tester. Built on a standard PC, TestQuest Pro provides input to the system under test by simulating user inputs, such as keystrokes and mouse movements, then captures and verifies output from the system to monitoring and display devices. TestQuest Pro is open and extensible, and can be modified for each target test environment through TestQuest's suite of integration and implementation services.
TestQuest Pro features include connectivity through a full range of stimulation and monitoring modules, an integrated test development environment in which test scripts can be easily developed, executed, logged and debugged, and a test manager application that enables users to categorize and execute test scripts from within a larger test framework.
